Shared Living Provider (SLP)
Lincoln and Southeast Nebraska | Indepedent Contractor
Why This Role is Different
At ABLED, Shared Living Providers offer something unique: a stable, supportive home where an adult with intellectual or developmental disabilities can truly belong. Rather than working in shifts, you welcome a participant into your home and daily life, creating a consistent environment that supports their independence, dignity, and personal growth.
You’ll be a mentor, teacher, caregiver, and advocate — while also becoming a roommate and genuine friend, sharing the rhythms of daily life in a way that fosters belonging for both of you.
What This Offers You:
Meaningful Relationship-Based Support: You’ll share daily life with someone who benefits from consistency and belonging, not shift-based care.
Autonomy as an Independent Contractor: You manage your own home environment and daily routines under DHHS and ABLED guidelines.
Holistic Impact: Support includes daily living skills, community integration, health routines, and personal growth — not just one type of task.
Ongoing Support From ABLED: We provide training, quality oversight, home visits, documentation assistance, and crisis support when needed.
Purpose-Driven Culture: Be part of a purpose-driven organization where compassion, dignity, and relationship-building guide everything we do.
